SALTEK Surge Protection Devices

Saltek is one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of surge protection systems and fuses for electrical installations. The brief for this project was particularly demanding: to create a unified design language that could encompass a wide range of products of different shapes, sizes, and technical specifications.
Saltek’s products have always been known for their high level of technical sophistication and reliability. However, the original design lacked character and visual appeal. It was functional but rather plain and grey, with little to distinguish one product line from another. The goal, therefore, was to develop a visual identity that would reflect the brand’s technological excellence while improving clarity and orientation within the extensive product portfolio.
The new design introduced a color-coded system based on a distinctive horizontal stripe, which became a recognizable symbol of the brand. This simple yet powerful visual element unified the entire range of products, strengthened the company’s identity, and added aesthetic value to the technical design.
After the launch of the new product line featuring the NOVAGUE design, Saltek recorded a significant increase in sales. This growth clearly demonstrated that high-quality industrial design can have a measurable commercial impact, even in highly technical fields where products are not typically visible to end users. Although the surge protectors are mostly hidden once installed inside electrical panels, their refined shapes and color markings make installation easier, improve visual orientation, and set a new standard for both functional and aesthetic quality.
